Idaho Sunset – Southern Idaho Photographer

My dad :)

My folks came to visit Easter weekend and I snapped this great silhouette shot of my Dad and a beautiful Idaho sunset. My love for agriculture most definitely comes from him, while my love for photography comes from my mom. Although a short visit, we had a great weekend celebrating Jesus with them and friends, while also exploring a bit of City of Rocks…. that’s a blog post for a little later though 🙂

Between sessions, I really want to share Idaho with you all! I know some of my followers are from where I grew up in Oregon and some from Idaho as well. You never know what new opportunities are right in your back yard!

This past weekend in, Southern Idaho, was so gorgeous I got my first official sunburn! That just means the weather can only get better from here. I can’t tell you how much I enjoyed our adventure this weekend. We wandered towards Fairfield and then over to the South Fork of the Boise River, with Cinch and Elly in tow, of course.

The area near the South Fork of the Boise River that we explored, was actually part of the area that burned in last year’s big fire near Mountain Home. It was beautiful to see signs of regrowth everywhere, as well as MANY signs of wildlife. Deer, elk and yes, even wolves, have re-inhabited the area. You know what the best part was? The only sounds breaking the silence, were birds chirping. The waterfall was a nice little feature as well. A great place to get a little exercise and get away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life 🙂

Moving to Southern Idaho has given me a great appreciation for adventure and minimal populated areas. It’s hard to beat the feeling of you get when you can explore nature, away from the hustle and bustle of life. Last weekend took us to the Oakley, Idaho area. It’s pretty gorgeous if you’ve never been there! I have a few upcoming sessions to officially welcome the wonderful weather we’ve been having, but really want to share all Idaho has to offer with my followers. Sometimes, you don’t even know what’s in your backyard.

Please comment or share on my Facebook page about your adventures and pictures!  A photographer, no matter their specialty, I would hope could appreciate the genuine natural beauty nature has to offer. It sure makes a person feel blessed for their freedoms and opportunities in life!

South Hills – Southern Idaho Photographer

This past weekend, my husband Brice, our adventurous pups, Cinch and Elly, and I went exploring the South Hills in Southern Idaho. It was a little chilly and there was quite a bit of snow, but we decided to hike up a small hill to fight some cabin fever. Of course, as with any adventure, my camera came along! I am looking forward to warmer weather and longer days 🙂
